Mick Walker passed away on Monday, 7th July, while recovering from a stroke. He was a strong supporter for many years of our association, and he and his late wife Mo, attended many social occasions over those years. His funeral took place on the August 18th at Rushcliffe Oaks Crematorium, Stragglethorpe, near Nottingham.

Mick joined the RAF as a Boy Entrant in the 28th entry. I followed him from Cosford to Wyton, then Tengah and finally Brampton over the period 1957 to 1963. He was always involved in whatever was going on socially, and we had some great times together at many parties and gatherings. He and Maureen met at Brampton, and I was his Best Man at their wedding, and then we went our separate ways. I moved to Spain in 2005.
In 2006, we made contact again and caught up with our respective lives. We met at many reunions and they stayed with us in Spain, plus meetings at their place when we went back to see our families. I was invited to their 50th Wedding Anniversary, which was a great weekend. Although we kept in touch, we have been unable to travel. He will be missed by many members as he always chatted to everyone at the reunions.
