Judith Plimmer (nee Scott)

With great sadness I have to tell you that my sister, Judith Plimmer (nee Scott) passed away yesterday 5th December, peacefully in her sleep after a brave battle against cancer aged 77. In fact today would have been her 78 birthday.
Judy was an RAF photographer and married John Plimmer also an RAF photographer. She attained the rank of Senior Aircraftswoman.

After leaving the RAF they founded a very successful commercial and industrial studio near Portsmouth. I spent many school holidays staying with them and working in the studio. They were a major inspiration for my subsequently joining the RAF and training to be a photographer.

She will be missed by her 3 sisters and 2 brothers and 4 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All 6 of us children followed our father, who served during WW2, by serving in the RAF and my siblings all married service personnel. Many of my nieces and nephews, indeed even great nieces and nephews also joined the RAF. We did have my brother’s son join the Royal Navy but we don’t talk about him.

May Judy rest in peace and her duty is done. Thank you.

I think it’s lovely and says a lot when the forces run through generations, even the Navy 🤔 sorry for your loss Rod, condolences to all the family.

I never knew you had such a proud military heritage (apart from the matelot of course 😉)
Sadly another recruit to that celestial crew room, RIP Judith☹️
