Second on right front row is my dad, Mervyn Davies. After Gutersloh, he was stationed at Brize, then the rehabilitation hospital at Chessington before leaving the RAF as a chief tech. He and mum settled in Witney where he worked for Oxfordshire County council managing the maintenance of their fleet. He died in 2013.
Hi Graeme, Cliff, known as ‘Tanker’ (‘cos he was always tanking down the road on his motor bike) shared a 4 bed room with us at Wyton when we were on 39 Squadron. I have a memory of him waking up one morning and taking a swig out of a can that had been on the floor overnight. The can was full of ants and his reaction was a sight to behold.
