It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of Peter Smith. His wife Anne sent me the following message yesterday. Peter was diagnosed mid May with pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully at home on the 18 July.
He had the most compassionate care of the Marie Curie nurses for 10 days.
Pete was on PPA 28

This is very sad news, he was a good man. I served with Peter at JARIC in the early 70s, we went through Cranwell together and were both at JARIC again in the 90s. My condolences to Anne. RIP Peter.

Sad news Chris. Pete was OC P&D at No1 AIDU on 1 of my many tours there. He was as others have mentioned a gentleman and very supportive to a newly promoted Sgt. Condolences to Anne and Blue Skies Pete till we meet again.
